Frances Parkes MA, AGSM Frances was taught by pioneering voice coaches of the 80s and 90s. Firstly at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she was cast as the lead of the final production of the 3 year professional acting course and later at RADA and the Actors Centre. She continued work as an actor and trainer in acting skills which led to a Masters from Goldsmiths' College where she studied Grotowski and his ground-breaking work in freeing the actor's voice regardless of the proximity or distance of the audience. She received an award to research at the Grotowski Centre in Italy and on her return began working on the technique with the staff of the British Council and at the Actors Centre. She's been a voice coach for the last 14 years, dividing her time between training actors and business people. She's a visiting lecturer for the University of London and consultant to the Institute of Interpreters and Translators. She researched and developed the Speak English Clearly franchised programme over 3 years and produced and recorded the 3CD Speak English Clearly box set. Her client list is testimony of her work and ability to train others using exercises that reliably produce results. She also works in voice-overs and as a voice analyst. Her Presentation Skills training helps people to express themselves successfully in all circumstances requiring a presentation, whether it's for an academic competition, a business solution or a requirement for a job application.
